Lucian has no friends. Although he acts like he’s fine with it, he knows his fear of meeting new people is holding him back. That changes when he gets hit by a bus and wakes up facing Death, who grants him his near-death wish: to have a friend. From their meeting comes a strange relationship. As Lucian struggles to discern whether his newfound overwhelming dread stems from fear of dying, or rejection from his new crush, Death takes a curious liking to life… and possibly Lucian himself.
