Kharia with nothing or none else to live for killed herself in hopes of reuniting with Jacob, who sacrificed his life to save hers. Thus led her quest to find Elysium. Elysium is a period for which demons have a chance to redeem themselves and find paradise. On her 100th death-year, she gave up, her being one of the oldest demons to reside in hell, and then resorted to do doing what demons are best at doing; making other commit the same crime.
