Anja wishes to speak freely without the fear of being whipped by her cruel family. Every night she dreams of a place where she is no longer treated as a burden. Once she starts to think that there is no such place, she is taken away by a big feathery beast who slaughters her family and then takes her to a castle. She is left with but one companion, a tiger named Ada and a book filled with stories. Will she finally find her sense of worth here? And what of this beast that has taken her?
