Still struggling with the memories of a blazing fire, June has nightmares every night that she can’t seem to escape. She has built up her walls, and keeps her emotions and thoughts to herself, afraid that if she showed them, she would lose those around her. It is not until she meets Andar, an Elkori—magical creatures originally known to be a threat to other species—that June begins to truly see the world around her.
