Alice lives a rather sheltered life, dreaming of escaping the mundanity of her farm into one of her father's stories. She gets her first taste of adventure when she meets E.L-1, a derelict automaton, buried beneath their crop fields. Through a twist of fate and a little magic, Alice is uprooted from her home and thrust into a journey to discover the secrets of herself, her companion, and the wide world around them.
