73 years ago an elixir was created that allowed those who took it to develop special abilities. Only the rich and successful had the money to obtain the elixir. In the present, people with these abilities have manufactured a pill that allows their workers a boost to do their jobs. Lo, one of the main characters, receives her pills the day before she starts her new job as a nurse. Instead of healing abilities, Lo develops an unknown ability and finds herself being hunted along with her roommate.
