100 years ago, an explosion erased the continent of Imperia from the face of the planet. It left a hole in its wake where monsters poured through in hordes. Only skilled magicians called Hunters could exterminate these Beasts. A demon named Xander recruits a child prodigy, Paul, to work for him as a Hunter's assistant, or a Beater. They Hunt together, each learning from the other. But it seems that both carry secrets that aren't as light as their outward personas may disclose...
