In the vile and dangerous slums of Victorian Manchester, gangs of youths known as "scuttlers" rule the streets, wreaking havoc and leaving only ruin in their wake. Anyone who dares to stand in their way and challenge their supremacy, will be viciously beaten down - only the strongest survive. There are few with the hopeless dream to escape their violent and filthy reality, stricken by poverty and crime, and step out of the thick smog from the factory chimneys to finally breathe.
