For her eighteen years of life, Charaka listens to her cherished music box to silence the sounds of her troubled home life. During her eighteenth year, however, something unexpected and extraordinary occurs. This event sends Charaka into a world of magic and fantastical settings, but danger seems to lurk around every corner. Amidst her constant struggle to survive her new environment, she deals with two jesters, whose actions and words are contradictory. Will she make it to her next year of life
